A Report On E-C Translation Of Electronic Technology Texts Under The Guidance Of Functional Translation Theory

This translation report is based on the translation practice of three papers on wireless sensor network in Electronic Science and technology.This translation practice report mainly includes five parts:introduction of translation task,description of translation procedure,overview of translation theory,case study and conclusion.According to the fact that the text is classified according to the text function type,the functional translation theory is used as the guidance in the translation process.And in this report,I analyze the problems that I found during translating and introduce the translation strategies that I used during the translation process.Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN)is a leading edge field which has attracted much attention in the world and also is an interdisciplinary.The texts and papers in this field have typical characteristics of Electronic Science and technology papers,and is also an ideal material for the research of translation on scientific papers.In this translation practice,I find that terminology translation and compound and complex sentences translation is the difficulty of Science and technology texts’translation.During the translation,Ⅰ choose the most generally recognized version of translation as much as possible through network queries and comparisons of parallel texts.In terms of long and difficult sentences according to the context,Ⅰ split and reorganized the sentence,in order to achieve the smooth and concise translation.And amplification was used on the premise of fully convey the accurate information.To sum up,through this translation practice,Ⅰ am deeply aware of the importance of professional knowledge and translation strategies in translation.
