The Revise And Supplement For Annotations Of Wu-zhou Late (from Shengli To Dazu Period) Epitaph

As an important unearthed document material,the Tang dynasty epitaph has an inestimable effect on our research on historical figures,politics,economy and culture in tang dynasty.However,because the epitaph of Tang dynasty was damaged by man-made or natural factors in a long-time history,the handwriting of the epitaph became not clear.In addition,under the influence of the knowledge and attitude of interpreters,the predecessors’ annotations of the epitaph on Tang dynasty often have mistakes,such as wrongly written characters,missing characters,redundant characters,incorrect segmenting of sentences and so on.Therefore,it is necessary to research and study the epitaph of Tang dynasty systematically.Through studying the epitaph of the late period of Wu-zhou(from Shengli to Dazu),this thesis revises the mistakes that appears in the interpretations of epitaph to improve the quality of it and to help interpret it more precise.At the same time this thesis will collect systematically variants of this period and make “The Table of Variants in Epitaph from Shengli to Dazu”.This work can provide a number of valuable materials of glyph.This paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter is introduction,which illuminates research object,relative research overview,research steps and research methods.The second chapter includes four parts,which are explained of difficult folk characters,the explain of new characters of Wu-zhou,the explain of damaged characters and the explain of interchangeability characters.The third chapter is the revise of annotation,which includes the revise of incorrect record,the revise of missing record and setting examples of incorrect points.The fourth chapter points out the meaning of revise of epitaph of the late period of Wu-zhou(from Shengli to Dazu):(1).It is helpful to interpret precisely the epitaph of Tang dynasty.(2).It will provide reference value to relative research.(3).It also can provide a number of valuable data of glyph for the research of Wu-zhou’s new characters.The final part is conclusion,which summarizes the achievements and shortcoming of this thesis.
