English learning has attracted increasing attention in primary school.According to the critical period theory,primary school is the key stage for the development of students’ spoken ability.A good language foundation in this stage plays an important role in mastering the language and the degree of mastery.An effective English teaching in this stage,especially scientific and efficient oral English teaching,can lay a solid foundation for the development of students’ oral English.In the environment of English as a foreign language,if students do not have a little grammatical awareness,they will make many mistakes in their expressions.If the same error is repeated again and again,it will solidify.Therefore,it is extremely necessary to incorporate proper grammar teaching methods into oral English teaching in primary schools.At present,there are few studies on the combination of oral English teaching with grammar teaching,especially in primary schools.Therefore,it has theoretical and practical significance to discuss the implementation of grammar teaching in oral English class.This research is based on the theory of acquisition-learning hypothesis by Krashen and noticing hypothesis by Schmidt.Taking the sixth grade primary school students as the research object,this paper studies whether explicit-implicit grammar teaching can stimulate the students’ interest in learning or improve their confidence in oral expression.In this study,two classes in the sixth grade of a primary school in Jinan were selected as experimental classes and control classes for teaching practice.In the experimental class,explicit-implicit grammar teaching was integrated into oral English teaching,while the former teaching method was still adopted in the control class.Through oral tests and questionnaires,it is found that the results of the experimental class are significantly different from those of the control class after the explicit-implicit grammar teaching experiment.The results of the questionnaire show that the explicit-implicit grammar teaching model can improve the accuracy of students’ oral English expression,and the students’ learning motivation,interest and confidence in the experimental class are improved at the same time.The explicit-implicit grammar teaching method can optimize the oral English teaching in primary schools,and it is of great significance to solve the problems in oral English teaching in primary schools.This study has reference value and practical significance for primary school teachers in oral English teaching.The combination of explicit andimplicit grammar teaching method is introduced into primary school oral English teaching,which provides valuable reference for primary school English teaching theory.
