A Study Of Three-dimensional Transformation In Chinese And Uyghur Language Translation

From the perspective of ecological translation,this paper focuses on the research on the three-dimensional transformation of the translated versions of “Border Town”and “ To Live”,and analyzes how translators realize the three-dimensional transformation in terms of specific translation operations from the three aspects of linguistic dimension,cultural dimension and communicative dimension.First of all,this paper introduces the three-dimensional translation method of ecological translation,which emphasizes that translators can adopt the translation method of original language compliance in the process of the adaptation and selection of linguistic,culture and communication.Secondly,linguistic dimension is analyzed from the aspects of vocabulary,syntax and expression style.Cultural dimension analyzes material culture,social culture and language culture respectively by combining Nida’s classification of culture with actual corpus.Communicative dimension is divided into expressive function,cognitive function,interpersonal function,information function and imperative function according to Nida’s classification of language function and the combination of actual corpus.Finally,the translation methods adopted by translators for each dimension are summarized.Specifically,the following two major issues are discussed: 1)which translation means do translators prefer in each dimension of three-dimensional transformation,the adherence to the source language or to the target language? 2)expound whether the translation of “ Border Town ” and “ To Live” has successfully realized the three-dimensional transformation,in order to clarify that the three-dimensional transformation of ecological translation has a theoretical guiding role in chinese-dimensional translation.The findings are as follows: 1)Linguistic dimension,translators are more inclined to the original language ecology.Culturedimension,translators are more inclined to the target language ecology.Communicative dimension,translators are more inclined to the original language ecology.In order to achieve the goal ofecological balance from the source text to the target text,the translators should try to be close to the source text ecology under the condition of the two text ecology being the same.In the case of big differences between the two texts,the translation ecology is adopted.2)the translation of “ Border Town ” and “ To Live” has realized three-dimensional transformation,but there are also some examples of failed three-dimensional transformation,which provesthat the three-dimensional transformation of ecological translation plays a theoretical guiding role in the translation of “Border Town”and“To Live”.
