A Report On The Translation Of SCI-TEC News From Perspective Of Eco-translatology Based On Scientific American

Science and technology is the first productive force.Under the social background of rapid economy,the priority of development has shifted to science and technology.As a major tool of delivering scientific and technical information,the news has gradually been favored by the public.This paper studies the translation of SCI-TEC news from the prospective of Eco-translatology Based on Scientific American.The author tries to come up with translation methods and strategies to solve the problems in the process of translation.This paper is based on news advancement and growing ecological consciousness,makes a review of the current research status of SCI-TEC news translation and Eco-translatology to find out the “grey zone” and launches the study.It applies deductive and inductive research methods and aims at mastering translation strategies and improving translation quality.In addition,guided by the theory of Eco-translatology,the author analyzes the features of the source texts from the dimension of language,culture and communication.There are distinctive features among language dimension.In SCI-TEC text,there are plenty of technic words,acronyms,neologisms,passive sentences,appositive and directive speech.The paragraph is deductive.Therefore,SCI-TEC news translation should be conducted from these three dimensions.To be specific,adaptive selection and transformation from linguistic dimension can be achieved by such translation techniques as zero translation,addition,literal translation to coordinate relations between languages.From cultural dimension,four-character structure can be applied to deliver cultural meaning.As regard to communicative dimension,addition and shift can be used to add missing information and adjust logic relation respectively.After applying above translation strategies,the author hopes to raise translation quality and shed some light on other translation.
