Psychological Reactions Of Western Music Styles In Listening Process

The paper uses the experimental method of psychology to study the psychological reaction of Western music style,choosing the four styles of Baroque,classical,romantic and expressionism in western music,mainly to discuss the feeling&emotion reaction,the audiovisual synesthesia reaction and the association imagination reaction,and the influence of the music professional training on the style recognition and the choice according to the choice.Firstly,although there are two interactions between style and feeling/emotion,exceedingly significant differences exist in the feeling&emotion response between the four styles in the same emotional and emotional expression type,feeling&emotion performance,the main emotional response intensity also demonstrated a distinctive difference;in the emotional type,the performance of music and the feelings of the subject have a very high consistency.Secondly,the sense of color perception as well as the sense of color concentration respectively presented a tendency from warm to cold and from shallow to deep with those four kinds of style changing as time went by,while the sense of color concentration changed from strong to weak and from deep to shallow with the flowing of musical emotion.When it comes to tonal sense of emotional emotions,it also became negative and cold from positive and warm with the changes of musical emotion;color sense of concentration with the emotional expression of music changed from strong to weak and from deep to shallow.Thirdly,these four styles can trigger both non-musical and musical associated imagination but overall,they are more inclined to the non-musical one.Last but not least,there is no significant difference between music and non-music students in the above three levels of psychological response.But there is a major difference in the cognitive response,which is the music style and its basis,and this difference is also reflected in the students of different degrees of music,indicating that musical style can be distinctive and bright.And the ability to distinguish musical style can be prominently facilitated by professional training.
