The Protection And Utilization Study On The World Irrigation Project Heritage Of Zhengguo Canal

The World Irrigation Heritage Project is a World Heritage Project selected by the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage(ICID)since 2014,which aims to better protect and utilize ancient irrigation projects.In the historical process of world civilization,human irrigation activities play an indispensable and important role.As an important evidence of human irrigation activities,irrigation heritage is an important wealth inherited from the ancients.It has universal historical,cultural,scientific and social values and should be better protected,developed and utilized.However,the research on irrigation project heritage in China is still in its infancy.The general situation,current situation,value and further protection and utilization of the heritage continue to be carried out.The historical evolution,cultural characteristics,value connotation and practical significance of the heritage need to be further explored.Zhengguo Canal was selected as the third World Irrigation Project Heritage List in 2016.Since the Qin Dynasty was excavated,after the construction of each dynasty,over 2000 years,it has continuously played a beneficial role in agricultural irrigation in Guanzhong Plain,and has a profound impact on the local culture,agricultural economy and social development.Under the background of the development of modern society,Zhengguo Canal is not only a national key cultural relic protection unit,but also an irrigation project in use.There are contradictions and problems between the effective protection of historical relics and the rational use of irrigation projects,and also a common problem facing irrigation heritage.Taking Zhengguo Canal as an example,this paper analyzes the heritage characteristics,development process and value connotation of irrigation heritage,summarizes its experience and existing problems in the process of protection and utilization,which has important theoretical and practical significance for the promotion of the value of irrigation heritage and sustainable development,and also for the protection of irrigation heritage.To provide reference for protection and utilization,to make up for the deficiency of relevant research on irrigation heritage.
