From the beginning of Chinese new literature,the description of "going away" was accompanied by enlightenment and salvation.In the original literary expression,"going away" was excessively elite and enlightened,and it has become one of the hot topics in Chinese literature in the 20 th century.As one of the characters of the leavers,the male image who left the marriage is not as lucky as the family traitors and female leavers.It did not pay attention to writers,readers,and researchers early.However,it has always taken root and blossomed in the history of the development of Chinese modern and contemporary literature in an obscure way.From another point of view,the male image who left the marriage is extremely fortunate.It is unattended,so it can grow up according to its own growth rules.From a macro point of view,there is a relationship between inheritance and development of male images who leave marriage in their literary writing process.During the May Fourth period,the male image was born in the national and personal conflicts and spiritual and physical conflicts of the intellectuals.In the 1930 s and 1940 s,the male image gradually matured under the author’s subtle consideration of human nature.After a difficult exploration period of seventeen years,it was finally revived in the 1980 s and constantly seeking new breakthroughs when inherited the tradition.Since the 1990 s,through the unremitting efforts of writers,the male image has become more and more stable on the road of diversification and personal development.In the specific works of different periods,such runaway men are redundant,hollow,frustrated and strangers in their marriage and family.Marginalized identity and fragile image make them become clowns on the stage of life."Running away" has become the best way for married men to get rid of the predicament of survival and realize life salvation.However,in the face of all kinds of survival difficulties,such redemption is hopeless.They can’t escape the endings such as returning,wandering or dying.Running away,as a way of redemption,even causes two kinds of identity changes around men who leave their marriage,namely,husband identity and father identity.The absence and return of these two kinds of identities reflect the process of deconstruction and reconciliation of Chinese-style husband-wife relationship and parent-child relationship since the 20 th century.Especially since the new century,the image of men who leave their marriage has gradually become clear.The image and the spirit of father are restored,and the image of healthy male appears.All these reflect the writers’ new understanding of gender relations and parent-child relations.It will provide valuable reference for how to establish harmonious husband-wife relationship and parent-child relationship in the new century.
