Faced with the major opportunities and challenges brought by the “Belt and Road”,the exchanges and cooperation between Guangxi and the rest of the world are increasingly frequent,and their mutual communication requires language as a medium.This also provides an unprecedented opportunity for the development of foreign language education in Guangxi.However,there are a large number of students who have encountered various difficulties in the process of learning and become students with English learning difficulties.This has affected the quality of foreign language talent training in Guangxi.For the time being of the research,students with English learning difficulties are a great number in high school,junior middle school,but there are few studies on students with English learning difficulties in senior high school in ethnic minority areas.Therefore,the study on the causes and transformation strategies of senior high school students with English learning difficulties in Guangxi ethnic minority areas is of great significance.According to the summaries of the studies both from the domestic and foreign scholars,and with the theory of humanistic,constructivist and multi-intelligence as the theoretical framework,the author investigates of 433 students from Bama Yao Autonomous County Senior High School.This questionnaire is designed according to the internal and external causes of students with English learning difficulties.Internal causes include students’ English learning foundation,learning interest,learning motivation,learning attitude,learning willpower,learning habits,and learning strategies,learning confidence.The external causes include school factors,family factors,social factors and teaching materials.And it will be used to investigate the relevant factors of senior high school students’ English learning comprehensively.And then basing on the results of the questionnaire,six students with English learning difficulties,six English teachers and six teachers in charge of classes are chosen to do a deeper interview.This study mainly solves the following three questions: 1)what i s the current situation of students with English learning difficulties in Bama Yao Autonomous County Senior High School? 2)What are the causes for the formation of these senior high school students with English learning difficulties? 3)What are the strategies for transforming these senior high school students with English learning difficulties?The gathered statistics shows that the main causes for the formation of students with English learning difficulties in the school are concentrated on internal and external factors.The internal causes are mainly reflected the difficulty of conversion of languages,the poor foundation of students’ English learning,the lack of learning interest,the weak of learning motivation,the poor of learning attitude,the weak of learning willpower,the bad of learning habits,the lack of correct English learning strategies and the weak learning self-confidence.The external causes are mainly reflected in school factors,family factors,social factors and teaching materials.Finally,the author focuses on the main causes for the formation of senior high school students with English learning difficulties in Guangxi ethnic minority areas.Combined with her own teaching experience,she proposed some corresponding transformation strategies:First,solving the problem of difficult language conversion;secondly,strengthening the management of school education and teaching for students with English learning difficulties;thirdly,carrying out the reform of teacher classroom teaching and improving the teaching methods;fourthly,consolidating the home-school cooperation.The transformation strategies above was not carried out separately,but should be mutually combined when putting each method into effect to achieve the optimal conversion result.
