Research On The Development Of Anhui Dance Drama (1955-2018)

This article focuses on Anhui dance drama.The research scope is confined to a certain time span and geographic area.This study covers a period of time from 1955 to 2018.The year of 1955 has witnessed the premiere of the first Anhui dance drama "Liu Hai and the Golden Toad" in National Youth Workers and Peasants’ Gala in Beijing.This event was of great significance to the development of Anhui dance drama,marking a new era for this art form.Geographically,the Anhui dance dramas refer to locally-made works that are created and performed by art groups in Anhui,including those co-produced by external scriptwriters,art directors or leading actors from other provinces.This paper aims to find out the artistic characteristics of Anhui dance drama as well as conflicts or problems through expounding on 60 years of its development process thoroughly.It also puts forward some constructive suggestions on the future of Anhui dance drama.The thesis consists of five parts: introduction,development of Anhui dance drama,artistic characteristics of Anhui dance drama,reflection about the development process of Anhui dance drama and conclusion.The introduction part includes the background and significance of research,research status at home and abroad,literature review,research method and explanations on what is new and difficult about this study.In the first chapter,the development of Anhui dance drama is categorized into three stages: the early stage,the developing stage,and the flourishing stage.Some classic works of these three stages are introduced in detail such as "Liu Hai and the Golden Toad","Liu Lang and Lan Hua","Donglan","The Land","The Anhui Combo","Da Yu" and "The Beginning of Summer".The second chapter summarizes the artistic characteristics and conducts a further analysis of regional features and national spirits embodied in Anhui dance drama.The next chapter examines the development process from the perspective of the compatibility of economic growth with cultural development as well as the training of talents and team building.
