| In recent years,with the continuous improvement of China’s overall national strength,the trend of “Chinese language fever” has set off worldwide.The Confucius Institute is an institution established by the Office of the Chinese National Leading Group for Promotion of Chinese Language in various parts of the world to promote Chinese language and spread Chinese culture.One of the most important tasks of the Confucius Institute is to provide Chinese learners around the world with standardized and authoritative modern Chinese language teaching materials as well as the most formal and major Chinese learning channels.China is the tenth country that has established diplomatic relations with Togo and the two countries have friendly relations.In 2009,the Confucius Institute at Lomé University was officially launched.During the decade,it made certain contributions to the teaching of Chinese in this region,the development of society,and even the exchanges between the two countries.Conducting detailed investigations on different Confucius Institutes to understand their own development characteristics and making improvements based on actual conditions are the best choice for maintaining the continuous development of the Confucius Institute.This paper selects the Confucius Institute at Lomé University in Togo,Africa,as the survey object and,it mainly starts from the three aspects of the college itself,teachers and students.First of all,from the above three aspects,the history of Chinese teaching in Luomei Confucius Institute was reviewed,and the status quo was summarized.Secondly,some specific information of these three aspects was learned through questionnaires.The information is presented in the form of graphs,etc.Then,according to the survey results,the problems in the Chinese teaching of the Confucius Institute are summarized.It is concluded that there are some problems about the Chinese teaching in the Confucius Institute,such as the Chinese teaching are not professional,the curriculum is not reasonable,there is a lackof teaching resources,and so on.Finally,some suggestions are put forward for the problems that have already appeared,such as specializing Chinese teaching,formulating teaching plans,rationally arranging courses,improving teachers’ quality,and perfecting teaching resources,in order to make contribution to the development of the Confucius Institute in the future. |
