Guillaume Lekeu is a Belgian composer in the late Romantic period,a student of César Franck and D’indy. At the age of 24,he died of typhoid fever. His works were few,but he was a very talented composer. The author finds that in the Chinese musicology field,Lekeu is still relatively unfamiliar and the literature research is scarce. So the author hopes that through this paper, more attention in the Chinese musicology field will be attributed to this composer.Through the analysis of his violin sonata works in this paper, the author brings Lekeu into the vision of the majority of music performers and hope this paper plays a certain role in promoting Lekeu and bringing a good music reference value. The article is divided into three chapters. The first chapter introduces Guillaume Lekeu’s biography and his general composition background. The second chapter is about the composition background of Guillaume Lekeu’s Violin Sonata in G Major and the analysis of its musical form. The author intends to provide a more complete understanding of the Violin Sonata through this chapter. The third chapter is the main focus of the paper. The author will analyse the left-and-right hand techniques respectively, and list out some ways of interpretating the music through author’s own performing experience.
