A Report On The Translation Of King Of The Mountain:The Nature Of Political Leadership(Chapter Seven)

In the long period of time,rulers play an important role.Powers and privileges are synonyms of these leaders.At the same time,the real mental conditions of them are big concern for the public.This project is extracted from King of the Mountain:The Nature of Political leadership,Chapter Seven "On Sound Mind",written by Arnold M.Ludwig,an honorary psychiatry professor at University of Kentucky.The process of this report can be divided into three parts:pre-translation,case analysis and post translation revision.In order to make a good preparation,in the pre-translation part,an overall understanding of the original context is reached,and terminology is settled.In the second part,analysis is carried out from word translation and sentence translation.Word translation includes word collocation,word conversion,four Chinese-character structure,word with uncommon meaning,as well as word addition and omission.Sentence translation includes passive sentences,attributive clauses,long and difficult sentences.In the last part,with the help of peer reviewers,teachers,and experts,the translator reviews and checks the whole report carefully.At last,the translator summarizes the experience and weak points of the project.
