China’s red tourism project is attracting more and more tourists from home and abroad with its revolutionary characteristics in modern society. As the carrier of Chinese revolutionary history, the red tourism texts are particularly important. At present, the Chinese-English translations of red tourism texts are few,and the translation has great room for improvement. This report aims at exploring C-E translation strategies of red tourism texts, which is of great practical significance and theoretical value.Based on the C-E translation of Introduction to Former Site of Shandong Provincial Government and Headquarters of 115th Division of Eighth Route Army, this report explores the translation methods and strategies of red tourism texts under the guidance of Skopos theory. It consists of four chapters.Chapter One is task description which includes the introduction of the source text, features of the source text, and task background and significance.Chapter Two describes the task process, including preparations before translation, translation process and quality control.Chapter Three, the most important part of this report,is case analysis, which mainly discusses the proper translation methods and translation strategies for the C-E translation of red tourism texts. At lexical level, addition and omission are used for Chinese four-character structures and culturally-loaded words,to achieve the purpose of communication. At syntactic level, division, linear translation and recasting are analysed in long and complex sentences of the red tourism text. And at discourse level cohesion is analyzed.Chapter Four is a summary, including the reflections and unsolved problems of the author. It is expected that this report can offer some references for further C-E translation of red tourism texts.
