Sense Without Forms,Sound Without Words

As an important form of picture expression in the traditional Chinese painting system,the "blank-leaving" art contains the aesthetic image of "silence is powerful than sound" and "everything without painting is wonderful".There are also many references and uses in the field of art design such as visual communication design.The traditional "blank-leaving" art collides with the modern book layout design,and gradually forms a design trend that conforms to the contemporary aesthetic concept,that is,the aesthetic concept of defeat with a force inferior in number,the virtuality dominates the reality,and less embodies fullness.This paper focuses on the analysis of the expression techniques and characteristics of the "blank-leaving" art in Chinese book layout design,explores the artistic principles and aesthetic values of "blank-leaving" in the book layout,and carries forward leaving blank art of the essence of the oriental traditional culture to enhance people’s ability to understand.The paper first summarizes the research background,research status,practical significance and innovation points of the subject in the first part.The second part analyzes the formation and development of "blank-leaving" in the book layout of China by introducing the source,definition and development of "blank-leaving",and clarifies that the "blank-leaving" art has long been compatible with the layout design of Chinese books.From the perspective of aesthetic value,the third part explains the philosophical implication of the "blank-leaving" art in aesthetic theories such as Taoism,Buddhism and Western Gestalt psychology.The fourth part starts with the design order of "blankleaving".According to a large number of excellent book layout design cases,this part starts from the angle of text,image and color,and interprets the complement design relationship that "blank-leaving" and layout components each other.Finally,the fifth part rises to the aesthetic value level of "blank-leaving" and demonstrates that the "blank-leaving" art is not only conducive to the formation of "fascinating and pleasing" book layout effects,but also affects readers’ reading pleasure.This paper analyzes the "blank-leaving" art of the coexistence of the virtual and the real in the book layout,studies the intrinsic connection between the art and the book layout design to enhance the design consciousness of the design practitioners to pay attention to the cultural foundation of the nation and avoid being lost in the flood of global popular culture.We must learn from multiple parties,expand new ideas,and integrate the essence of local culture into individual design works,and then create design works with Chinese spiritual temperament and present them on the world cultural stage.
