Characteristics And Artistic Value Of Inscription And Blank-leaving In Bada Shanren Paintings

Bada Shanren,is also known as Zhu Da,who is the9th-generation successor of Zhu Quan,King Ningxian,the 16 thson of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of Ming Dynasty.He was a great calligrapher and painter in Late Ming Dynasty and had made unprecedented achievements in terms of flower-an-bird painting,landscape painting and calligraphic art. His painting“Less ink dots for more tears”,and he also depicted the shaped of objects.he used the most concise ink to reflect the most abundant connotation,his painting were natural and reached a superb state,As to layout,he did his utmost to utilize the blank,The combination of inscriptions and images is quite natural.Blank space is divided by the inscription,so as to present vast sea,boundless sky,diffuse fog,moving clouds and a fantastic artistic conception.Bada Shanren advocated the idea of “saving”in painting and he was excellent at it.He caught the core of images.His paintings with the inscription give a refreshing and delightful feeling.Reveals a free and generous demeanor as well as a leisurely spiritual attainment.Bada Sharen create unique image as to the freehand flower-and-bird painting.In this paper,It attempts to proceed from the specific art works of Bada Sharen,by studying the history background of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.so as to analysis the relations between Bada Sharen paintings inscription and the blank-leaving,looking for the characteristics and artistic value.There are four chapters.Chapter 1 :Preface.Chapter 2:Development of the painting inscription art.Analysis the painting inscription art development background.Chapter 3 :The characteristics of Bada Sharen paintings inscription and the blank-leaving.This chapter divides Bada Sharen paintings into two kinds, one is exist the painting poem,the other is the painting poem non-existent.and tries to find out the regular pattern of inscription and the blank-leaving.Chapter 4 :The value of Bada Sharen paintings inscription and the blank-leaving.The value combined with the history and the aesthetic effect.In a word, this article fully probes into the Bada Shanren paintings inscription art style of conciseness,profoundness,simplicity and naturalness.Though the calligraphic ink is compact,has other meaning.
