Can Kind/Unkind Words Make People Experience The Temperature?

It is found that the experience of physical temperature can affect the impression of others and the level of interpersonal trust.That is,the individual's physical feelings can affect the individual's cognition and judgment of people or things.However,most of researches and conclusions of temperature perception and cognition are obtained under the Western cultural background.Therefore,this study attempts to explore whether temperature perception and gender will affect people's perception of kind or unkind words in a background of Chinese culture,whether people's mental temperature can be affected in a certain physical temperature when people are exposed to those words,and whether personality and recognition of those words have or have not a relationship.This research is divided into three parts with 120 subjects.Firstly,through the experiment method,three factors between the groups were used to explore the temperature conditions and influence of gender on individual speech perception.Secondly,through investigation with additional problems,to verify that speech with kind or unkind words whether start the warm or cold perception in Chinese cultural background.Finally,the test method was employed with Eysenck's Personality Questionnaire to find if there is a relation between personality and kind/unkind words.The results show that:(1)Under different temperature conditions for interpersonal judgment differences in speech.Warm temperatures were compared for kind speech materials to determine the degree of bad feelings and colder temperatures,the more severely in the colder temperature conditions,the test will be remembered for the bad score to determine a more cautious and strict.(2)Women in colder temperatures,for kind words feeling scores than men to be cautious and harsh,in the warm temperature conditions,male and female listening kind words and bad language had no significant effect.(3)Kind words do have meaning and psychological temperature for those who listen to the kind of unkind words and there was a significant difference in the estimation at the same temperature;in the colder environment,gender estimates for the same temperature have significant differences;in the warm environment,gender is not significantly different estimates for the same temperature;in Chinese culturebackground under various conditions,women in a variety of conditions are more likely than men to choose hot drinks.(4)Personality and judgment in this experiment show no significant correlation between the sense of kind words and unkind words.
