| In Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language,exercises contribute to the combination of culture teaching and language teaching,which realizes the transformation from knowledge-based teaching mode to process-based teaching mode.Therefore,the practice in the culture teaching material is very important.However,in the current research on TCFL textbooks,there are few studies on specific exercises,and even fewer on culture-specific textbooks.In this thesis,the author chooses a accepted Chinese culture textbook and an American English culture textbook as the research objects,in which Chinese or English as a second language.This paper makes a comparative study of the two textbooks from three aspects: The amount of questions,the type of questions and the content of the exercises,discusses their similarities and differences,and analyzes their advantages and disadvantages The author also puts forward some suggestions on the compilation of Chinese culture textbooks for TCFL.In practice,the number of questions should be sufficient,but is not the more the better.The time taken to complete the after-school exercises should be balanced with the time spent in class teaching.Must consider the different question quantity demand about the subjective and objective practice.The question amount distribution of each chapter or lesson should be more balanced to avoid ups and downs.In the setting of question types,we should grasp the nature of teaching materials and exercise purposes,select high-quality effective questions,improve the use rate of effective questions.The general category of question types should be controlled to an "appropriate" degree.The setting of question types should be balanced before fixity and variety,with both main and secondary question types,and with both language elements and skill-based exercises.The distribution of question types should be balanced,and the coverage rate of each practice unit should be improved as much as possible,taking into account the appropriate number of questions.We should reasonably distribute mechanical,semi-mechanical,semi-communicative and communicative exercises.From the point of view of the practice object,we should reasonably allocate vocabulary exercises,sentence exercises,reading comprehension exercises,expression exercises and practical exercises,the total proportion of the latter three should exceed the former two.In the setting of practice content,we should first embody the purpose,then the interaction,experience,task and cross-culture.The content of the exercises should be closely related to the nature of the teaching materials,and the training of language skills should be emphasized as well as cultural knowledge.Specifically,we should add some exercises which reflect the nature of the second language culture teaching material,such as discussion exercises,cultural comparison exercises,investigation and observation experiments,group task exercises and field interview exercises.The content of the exercises should cover all the teaching contents.There is an internal connection or logic between the exercises.There should be a clear division of areas in the exercises,such as the distinction between preclass practice and after-class practice.The exercise should be arranged step by step,following the rules from simple to complex.The exercises should be arranged in order from language to culture and then to concurrent contents.Considering learner’s language basis,there should be more detailed practice instructions and leading text. |
