Language acquisition is affected by many subjective and objective factors,and so is English learning.Scholars at home and abroad devote themselves to studying the subjective and objective conditions affecting language acquisition.Therefore,students' learning aptitude and learning style are becoming more and more concerned and it is significant to study these two variables.The number of studies on the correlation between learning styles and learning achievement is large,but there are few studies on the correlation between learning style and language aptitude,so,there is still room to do this study.In this thesis,Solomon Learning Style Scale and Modern Language Aptitude Test(English Version)designed by Carroll and Sapon in 1959 are adopted.The purpose of this analysis is to deeply understand the students' language aptitude and learning style.From analyzing the correlation between these two variables,it is helpful to provide some ideas for the reform of English teaching and provide some methods for promoting students' English learning.Data analysis shows that there is a correlation between learning style and language aptitude.The correlation between them is mainly manifested in:(1)the correlation between phonetic coding ability and verbal learning style;(2)inductive language learning ability and active learning style;(3)grammatical sensitivity and intuitive learning style;(4)rote learning ability and visual learning style.Based on analyzing and demonstrating the data,this thesis draws the conclusion that there is a correlation between students ‘English learning aptitude and learning style of senior high school.If teachers can make full use of the relationship between these two,fully tap students ‘English learning aptitude,and adopt different teaching strategies according to students' learning styles,then teachers ‘teaching and students' learning will be relatively much easier.
