| Taking the National Children’s Art Exhibition in the early Republic of China as the research object,this paper is devoted to exploring the relationship between this art history events and the origin of the education concept of the Ministry of Education at that time.Take the exhibition purport as the foothold.The main research material for this topic was the National Children’s Art Exhibition Summary(March 1915)published by the then Ministry of Education.The author combines the content of Monthly Issue By The Editorial Department Of The Ministry of Education(1913)as a clue.Taking the monthly "Minutes of the Ministry" as the current coordinate,this paper systematically combs the events of the National Children’s Art Exhibition.And extract the sequence of events from it.The academic content of the exhibition organizer’s art education motivation is as follows: Purpose Book,Study of Children’s Idea Circle,Opinions on the Communication of Fine Arts,Education of Art Enjoyment,Social Education and Fun.Then,this paper makes a research on the purport of the book from the perspective of the education policy of the Ministry of Education and the Social Education Department of the main Department of the Ministry of Education.It is found that the written purpose of the National Children’s Art Exhibition is "to study the improvement of children’s education",and behind the exhibition is the support of aesthetic education thought.In addition,according to the idea of the director of the Department of Social Education,which is presided over by the Ministry of Education,the National Children’s Art Exhibition has been carrying out its social propaganda function in the public opinion atmosphere created by the Department of Social Education.Finally,from the discussion of the National Children’s Art Exhibition and the Summary of the National Children’s Art Exhibition,the paper draws a new understanding that the first Chief Education Officer provides theoretical support(aesthetic education)and institutional guarantee(social education department)for the exhibition.This new understanding is demonstrated by the historical logic of the National Children’s Art Exhibition as follows: At first,the Ministry of Education of Nanjing Provisional Government,which was organized by Cai Yuanpei,was the starting point.The Beijing Beiyang Government Ministry of Education is a new starting point.Then Cai Yuanpei’s "Opinions on Educational Policies" establishes the core position of "New Educational Purpose Joining World View and Aesthetic Education".The establishment of the Department of Social Education designated Lu Xun as the head of the first section as the focus of the practical movement.Together with Fan Yuanlian,the second president of education,suppressing partisan disputes and protecting aesthetic education,so that the aesthetic education policy has not been deleted,this is a milestone.In this series of historical events,the National Children’s Art Exhibition is the social promotion of art courses without direct economic effect,and the practice of nonutilitarian aesthetic education thought.In addition,the motivation for holding the National Children’s Art Exhibition was promoted by the new education of Cai Yuanpei’s complete characters.It regards aesthetic education as the bridge between the phenomenal world and the real world.“Complete its morality with aesthetic education.” Taking the Republican era as the main theme is to educate the general public about the people’s spiritual world.The National Children’s Art Exhibition is the practice of art education promotion of the first subject in the Department of Social Education of the Ministry of Education.It is supported by the aesthetic education of the official educational purpose.The written purpose of the exhibition is "to study the improvement of children’s education",while the deep purpose of the exhibition should include the motive of "promoting Republican education and practicing aesthetic education of new educational purposes".To sum up in a word,the National Children’s art exhibition is the practice of aesthetic education. |
