| With the continuous development of the Internet and technology,the video game industry is booming.Not only are there more and more types of video games,but also related industries are in the process of rapid development.For example,LOL(League of Legends)e-sports Games,live video games,etc.People in the present era have a better understanding of the game,more game choices,and more ways to reach the game.MOBA games(Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Games)have become one of the most popular games in the world today.Among them,LOL and King Glory are the most representative MOBA games,and many people are addicted to them.So,whether the excessive use of MOBA games will have an impact on individuals,and how to mitigate the adverse impact of MOBA games on excessive users is a topic worthy of study.This study used the delay discounting task task and the information sampling task to explore the impact of different emotional valences(positive,negative and neutral),as well as different emotion regulation strategies(cognitive reappraisal strategy and expression suppression strategy)on pathological online game users’ impulsiveness of MOBA games.This study combined the questionnaire method with the experimental method and was divided into three studies:(1)Study 1,using the method of questionnaire survey,this paper investigated the total impulsivity score of pathological online game users(n1=179)and normal subjects(n2=126)of MOBA in three dimensions(motor impulsivity,cognitive impulsiveness and unplanned impulsiveness),and analysed the impulsiveness characteristics of pathological online game users of MOBA;(2)Study 2,this paper used the questionnaire survey method,through the Internet Addiction Scale and the Problematic Online Gaming Questionnaire to select subjects who overuseMOBA games;Based on the previous studies,this study selected appropriate emotional initiation materials;Under different emotional validity(positive emotion(n1=30),negative emotion(n2=29)and neutral emotion(n3=29)),this study used experimental methods to investigate the difference of decision-making impulsiveness among pathological online game users of MOBA games by delay discounting task and information sampling task;(3)Study 3,using the method of questionnaire survey,this paper selected the pathological online game users of MOBA games according to the Internet Addiction Scale and the Problematic Online Gaming Questionnaire.By delay discounting task and information sampling task,this study examined the impact of different emotion regulation strategies(cognitive reappraisal strategy(n1=15;n2=15)and expression suppression strategy(n3=15;n4=14))on decision-making impulsiveness of pathological online game users of MOBA games under different emotional valences(positive and negative).The results of this study are as follows:(1)For the pathological online game users of MOBA games,the level of problematic online game usage will have an impact on the level of impulsiveness,specifically,the participants with higher levels of problematic online games will show more high impulsive level;(2)Different emotional valences will lead to the difference of decision-making impulsiveness of pathological online game users of MOBA games,as shown by the negative emotional state of MOBA game problematic online game users compared with neutral emotions and positive emotions.Under the circumstance,the level of impulsiveness is higher;(3)Different emotional valences and different emotion regulation strategies will affect the decision-making impulsiveness of problematic online game users of MOBA games,specifically in positive emotional state,whether they adopt cognitive reappraisal strategy or expression suppression strategy,there is no significant difference in decision-making impulsiveness among problematic online game users of MOBA games.In negative emotional states,problematic online game users of MOBA games who adopt the strategy of expression suppression have a higher level of decision-making impulsiveness than those who adopt cognitive reappraisal strategy.MOBA game is an indispensable way of entertainment in today’s society.Appropriate use of MOBA game will benefit individual’s physical and mental health,such as alleviating psychological pressure,but its overuse is harmful to individuals,such as the decline in academic performance.Therefore,this paper comprehensively explored the psychological mechanism of pathological online game users of MOBA games,which is conducive to providing some supplement and support for the future research. |
