A Language Survey Of Henan Dialect Island In Linyi Village,Changzhi City

At the beginning of the 20 th century,some people in Linzhou City,Henan Province,avoided natural disasters and fled their homes to escape to a wasteland in Handian Town,Changzhi County,Shanxi Province.With the population increased,it gradually developed into a natural village and named “Linyi Village”.The Henan Linzhou dialect used by the villagers was long surrounded by local Changzhi dialect,and eventually formed a dialect island of Henan.This paper takes Linyin Island,Linzhou City,Henan Province as the research object,and comprehensively describes the language of the dialect island.Based on the comparison between Linzhou City dialect and Changzhi County local dialect,it summarizes the variation of pronunciation,vocabulary and grammar of dialect island.Using social linguistics methods,the authors maked the sample language survey of the language variation and the language using situation of the island immigrants.At the same time,the authors investigated the reasons for the language variation of the dialect island and predicted the development trend of the dialect island language.The survey results show that the dialect island has formed its own new language.In terms of language use,first,the Linzhou dialect of the immigrants of dialect island has the highest level of hearing,followed by the local dialect,and the level of Mandarin is relatively poor.Second,the dialect immigration mainly choose two-language using and three-language using,and the immigrants have the highest proportion of Linzhou dialect as the first choice,followed by local dialect and the smallest Mandarin.Third,the language pattern of the island immigrants in this dialect is related to the people.When interacting with family members,immigrants choose Linzhou dialect pattern,and the pattern of Linzhou dialect and local dialect are also popular among immigrants.When communicating with people from different sources,immigrants use Linzhou dialect,local dialect and Mandarin pattern.Fourth,the language choice of the island immigrants in this dialect is related to the exchange occasion.In formal occasions,immigrants prefer Mandarin or local dialects;when they are informal and away from the village context,immigrants prefer local dialects;immigrants tend to choose Linzhou dialect when they are intimate or they are immigrant.The reason is that the younger generation of immigrants have a negative attitude toward the linzhou dialect,and the language of the immigrants first learned is gradually based on local or Mandarin,plus convenient transportation,media communication,and the education of immigrants themselves and the diversity of occupations.The combined effects of various social factors have gradually dissipated the advantages of the linzhou dialect.At present,the dialect island language is frequently used,and it is active in the mouth of immigrants together with local dialect and Mandarin.However,The development of dialect island language is not optimistic.Its use is limited to the interior of the village and between immigrants,and the using space is greatly reduced.with the passage of the old generation and the growth of a new generation,the dialect island was eventually swallowed up.
