This translation practice report comes from the author's translation internship project. This report translates the Main Pavilion and Yangzhou Garden in The Introduction of 10 th Jiangsu Horticultural Exposition, which includes the introduction of gardens, buildings and spots. This practice aims at producing an English version of “Introduction to Garden Culture” so that foreign tourists can understand the cultural background better. The text involves a large number of verses,terminology,four-character words and names of scenic spots, which are the difficulties of this translation, and also the key content of this report. From the perspective of Reception Aesthetic, this report analyzes the translation strategies from three aspects: linguistic convention, cultural background and aesthetic habit. While translating, the translator should fully understand the readers' linguistic convention and cultural background,so that the translation is more acceptable for the readers while retaining the characteristics of Chinese culture. In different cases, the translator adopts translation methods such as literal translation, free translation, addition and omission. The results show that Reception Aesthetic provides a research perspective for garden translation.Firstly, the translator needs to be reader-centered and fully consider the reader's “acceptability”.Secondly, the translator needs to consider the “aesthetic value” of the translation, and translate the connotation and the beauty of the garden introduction text.
