Deep in Ancient Alley is a work of erhu based on the cultural characteristics of hutongs in Beijing,which has great research value.The composer Bochan Li presents the traditional hutong culture through modern techniques and integrates music with cultural characteristics.Through the analysis and research of this work,it can not only improve the players’ cognition of excellent music works,but also provide more possibilities for the dissemination of this work.From the perspective of practice,the author studies the organic combination of the cultural connotation of the song and the practice of erhu.The article Interpretation of Erhu Work Deep in Ancient Alley contains two chapters,which are divided into "analysis" and "interpretation".The first chapter interprets and analyzes the relevant factors involved in the work.This chapter contains four parts:The first section is about the composer and the work Deep in Ancient Alley.The second section is the analysis of the characteristics of the paragraphs in the work.The third section is a comparison of melody fragments in the work.The fourth section is the interpretation of characteristic elements.Among them,the first section starts with the composer and the creation background to elaborate the origin of the composer and the Hutong and the connection between the Hutong and the work.Taking paragraphs as a unit,the second section analyzes the characteristics of melody texture and sound pattern changes in each paragraph to clarify the structural relationship of the paragraphs.The analysis in the third section is mainly based on comparison,which is to make a detailed and separate comparison of the two melody fragments in each group,and to sort out the trend of melody and the change of phrase.The characteristic element in the fourth section refers to "shouts".Shouts are the speech used by vendors to attract customers when selling goods.The first and second related shouts is the essence of the whole work.Shouts not only reflect the life characteristics of Hutong residents,but also show the cultural characteristics of Hutong.More importantly,the atmosphere expressed by shouts reflect the composer’s Hutong feelings.The second chapter is about the author’s musical understanding and thinking through playing practice,including two parts:playing experience and musical perception.It is divided into three sections:The first section deals with the performance of the work.The second section is about the playing techniques of left and right hands.The third section is music perception.Among them,the performance of the works in the first section will start from the strength treatment,the distribution of bow speed in the bow segment,the arrangement of bow fingering,etc.In the second section,the left-hand and right-hand playing techniques involve the left-hand sliding sound technique and the right-hand double string technique,explaining the relevant aspects of the two techniques.The musical perception in the third section includes the experience of the works and the perception of music and culture.The experience of the work refers to the change of thoughts during the performance of the work,expounds the relation between music emotion and artistic conception,and highlights the importance of shaping music picture feeling.The perception of music and culture is a reflection on the beauty of music and culture from the work Deep in Ancient Alley:Traditional and modern works are "harmony but not unity" but"diversified and harmony";The "harmony but not unity" of "hutong culture" and"high-rise culture" is "diversified and harmony".As a postgraduate majoring in Erhu,the author believes that it is necessary to analyze the whole music comprehensively and carefully with the special music language as the focus.Regarding research methods,the author will adopt oral history,oral teaching and self-study:Interviewing composers to obtain valuable first-hand theoretical materials as support;Through the tutor’s teaching,learning valuable first-hand performance experience as support;Combining theory with practice,valuable first-hand experience has been obtained.Through on-the-spot investigation,music score analysis and other specific methods,combined with my own emotional experience,I am deeply involved in the research of the works.Through the analysis and interpretation of the works,we can deeply understand the musical features of the works,appreciate the distinctive hutong culture,and experience the beauty of harmony and difference between music and culture.As for the meaning of the work,as the author said in the article,the meaning of Deep in Ancient Alley is about the mutual integration of "diversified and harmony" music and culture,emotion and culture.
