Guided by the Interpretive Theory of Translation(ITT),the practice report is a summary by the author after the simulated C-E consecutive interpreting practice on the Bluebook of Hunan. The paper focuses on how to use "deverbalisation" to deal with the problems encountered in the interpretation process,in order to improve interpreting skills and achieve the expected results. The preface of this report is an introduction to the overall picture of this C-E simulated consecutive interpreting, including the background and source materials of the conference interpreting for the Bluebook of Hunan 2018 and the Bluebook of Hunan2019.Chapter one demonstrates in detail the experimental methods and design, and describes the preparations made prior to the simulated interpreting.the entire simulated process as well as the reflections after the simulation.Chapter two introduces the ITT and deverbalisation, the core of ITT,and then details on the difficulties under the guidance of deverbalisation at lexical and syntactic level.Chapter three elaborates on the typical examples of the simulated interpretation.Chapter four analyzes the successes and failures of this simulated practice. In the end,the paper presents its conclusions. The value of this simulated interpreting is that it’s an empirical analysis of how to translate source language information, with its concentration on deverbalisation into target language producing an equivalent effect as that of the original texts,by pursuing ITT as the theoretical perspective of the consecutive practice.Reflections on the entire simulated process and the effects of the translated texts enable the author to believe that simulated interpreting practices can offer an effective approach to improving interpreting abilities and skills for MTI student interpreters in the absence of field interpreting.
