There still are some serious and poor oral English problem with English learning for Chinese students.So how to help them have the courage,interest and ability to speak English is the target of many research.This study focuses on primary school students who have just come into contact with English learning.Through the implementation of The Lexical Approach,this study want to explores the impact of The Lexical Approach on oral English ability from the basic stage of English learning.The main question of the study is that can The Lexical Approach improve the oral English of primary school students?According to the main question,we will investigate the number of chunk,accuracy,fluency,pronunciation and intonation of spoken language.Therefore,the sub-questions of the study are as follows: Can The Lexical Approach improve primary school students' the number of chunk,accuracy,fluency,pronunciation and intonation in oral English?In addition,according to some studies said female are superior to male in oral learning.In view of this statement,this study will make an exploration by comparing the oral test of male and femalestudents.Therefore,the second question is whether there is gender difference in the impact of The Lexical Approach on the oral ability of primary school students.According to the theory of lexical chunks,the language is that the language users use frequently in their daily life,accumulated in consists of several words,between vocabulary and grammar,semantics,context and syntax,and small lump of word structure.And in foreign language learning,if we master the language chunks of different themes,lexical chunks as the basic unit of language input,language learning will more effective.This study focuses on the impact of The Lexical Approach on pupils' oral English ability.As a kind of teaching method,The Lexical Approach proves its influence on learning,which can be carried out by experiment,through the cross comparison experiment between chunk and traditional teaching,and the results can be obtained by analyzing the significant difference according to the experimental data.The hypothesis is that The Lexical Approach has a better effect on pupils' oral English ability than the traditional teaching method.According to the instruction of chunk theory,the experiment was designed according to the steps of chunk recognition,chunk input memory and chunk output.Data obtainedfrom two oral tests in each class were analyzed by SPSS for t test.The results of the teaching of lexical chunks in the primary student's oral English language block number,accuracy,fluency and pronunciation intonation on cross analysis have significant differences,which is confirmed the research hypothesis: The Lexical Approach for primary school students' oral English ability is better than traditional teaching methods.the influence of the primary school students speaking ability has improved significantly.On the second question,it is concluded that there is no gender difference in the effect of chunk teaching on pupils' oral ability.Finally,through the experimental research,it is suggested that students should be guided to recognize and be familiar with lexical chunks in the process of lexical chunks teaching.Skillfully set the situation,expand the content,grasp the purpose of dialogue;Encourage students to actively participate in various creative exchange activities;Cultivate cultural awareness of English.
