| Western Region Grottoes Mural Art is an ancient cultural and artistic heritage widely concerned in the world.Its Qiuci Grottoes and Dunhuang Grottoes are famous for their colorful civilization.Western Region Grottoes Mural Art Absorbs Buddhist Grottoes Art is from Ancient India,and on this basis it has undergone some evolution.After absorbing the artistic style of the Indian grottoes,Iranian,central plains and Greek culture,the Qiuci Grottoes also absorbed the local culture of Qiuci,thus forming its own unique style,namely “Qiuci Style”.The Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang,though incorporating the characteristics of the mural art in the Qiuci Grottoes,are more influenced by the Central Plains culture.Grottoes are an art form and a manifestation of Buddhist art.Therefore,the grotto Buddhist culture in the western regions can be known through grotto mural art.More and more people,especially artists,are beginning to pay attention to the mural art of grottoes in the western regions.This paper discusses the differences between the grottoes in the western regions and the grottoes in Dunhuang in their artistic styles.This paper is divided into five chapters,namely:The first chapter mainly introduces the origin of Buddhism and the origin and development of cave temples.The life of Sakyamuni,founder of Buddhism.Analyze the characteristics of grotto temples in different periods.The formation and sprouting of Mogao Grottoes and the cultural history around Dunhuang are introduced in detail.This paper introduces the influence of Chinese traditional culture on Buddhism,taking Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes as an example.In addition to analyzing the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes,it also introduces in detail the cultural and geographical history of the Qiuci Grottoes,and the formation and development of the Qiuci Grottoes(mainly including the Qiuci Grottoes of Han style-taking the Aye Grottoes as an example,as well as the Qiuci Grottoes influenced by other styles).This paper analyzes the influence of the eminent monk Kumarajiva of Qiuci State on the mural art of Qiuci Grottoes.The second chapter mainly analyzes the differences in artistic styles of grotto murals in the Western Regions in various periods.The author uses different analysis methods to analyze the two grottoes.The analysis of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes is based on time and dynasties,and analyzes the artistic styles of Northern Wei,Western Wei,Northern Liang,Northern Zhou and Sui and Tang Dynasties.The division of the grottoes in Qiuci is based on style,and the “Qiuci style”,“Huihe style” and “Tubo Turkic style” are analyzed.This chapter also analyzes the “flying image” in the grottoes of the western regions,the meaning of flying and the flying in ancient India,then the flying changes in the grottoes of Qiuci and Dunhuang,the difference between the flying in ancient India and the flying in the western regions,the types of flying images,the two types of flying,one by one,and the aesthetic characteristics of flying art.The third chapter mainly introduces the patron saint of Dunhuang,oil painter Chang Shuhong.This paper introduces Chang Shuhong’s life and work in Dunhuang,analyzes Chang Shuhong’s early style,including the change of national style and Chang Shuhong’s exploration of “nationalization of oil painting ”.Chang Shuhong ’ s outstanding contribution to Dunhuang.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the five artists affected by the Western Regions Grottoes,including the older generation of artists and the new generation of artists,including Dong Xiwen,Han Leran,Quanshan Stone and Tu Zhiwei.The fifth chapter mainly analyzes the elements in the Western Region Grottoes murals and their enlightenment to modern oil painting creation. |
