A Performance Analysis On Difficult Fragments For Tuba In Parts Of Classics Of Symphony Literature

Tuba is an important bass instrument in a symphony orchestra.As the fundamental instrument of the bass brass family,it reinforces the bass line of entire orchestra and makes orchestral resonance more powerful and robust.By virtue of this,Tuba has gained favor from composers since the Romantic Period.As the playing techniques of Tuba developed,it has become not only a crucial bass instrument,but also a flexible solo instrument,and gradually stands out in the orchestra.Based upon the repertoire of audition by Shanghai Orchestra Academy,this paper will select three typical episodes of Tuba,for music analysis and performance analysis purpose.Intend to provide reference and guidance for the Tuba pedagogy and orchestral practice.
