Drama teaching method refers to a kind of teaching method that applies drama methods and drama factors in teaching and enables the learning object to achieve the learning goal and purpose in drama practice.The traditional English classroom overemphasizes the knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary,neglects the interest of students,the practical use of English and the popularization of English background culture.The application of drama teaching method in primary school English classroom has fully created a relaxed,joyful and real English interactive environment,so that students can fully develop their creativity,curiosity and imagination in the ocean of drama teaching method.Drama teaching method plays an important role in arousing students' interest in learning,cultivating students' love for learning and comprehensive ability to use English language.The whole paper consists of six parts: introduction,theoretical basis of drama teaching method,case analysis,case reflection and reference,application strategy of drama teaching method and research prospect.The introduction of the paper is from five aspects: the reason of the topic,the value and significance of the research,the definition of the concept,the literature review and the research design.The first chapter of the thesis discusses the theoretical basis of drama teaching method.According to the different aspects of drama teaching method in classroom,the author divides the theoretical basis into "learning by doing" theory,cooperative learning theory,constructivism theory and multiple intelligence theory.Through the discussion of four theories,it paves the way for the case analysis.In the second chapter of the thesis,the author selects three examples from the perspectives of teaching area,teaching organization,teaching text selection and processing.Including the three little pigs by Mr.Huang Siyu from Taiwan,the king's new closures by Mr.Xu ang from Beijing horse catching drama training institution,and an attempt to scoop up the moon from the sea by Mr.Zhu Weishan.The author mainly from the selection of teaching content,the setting of teaching process,the use of teaching methods and students' Reflection on the classroom,etc.to study and analyze three cases carefully.In the third chapter,based on the four theories and combined with the excellent cases of the three teachers in the second chapter,the author puts forward reflections and references on the three cases from the aspects of learning by doing,cultivating students' cooperation ability,building students' knowledge system and developing students' multi-faceted potential.In chapter four,based on the previous analysis and discussion,the author puts forward the corresponding strategies for the application of drama teaching method in primary school English classroom.From the aspects of the setting and implementation of teaching objectives,the selection of teaching contents,the application of teaching methods,the selection of teaching evaluation and the utilization and integration of teaching resources,this paper puts forward corresponding application strategies in combination with the characteristics of drama teaching method itself.In the fifth chapter,based on the consideration and research of the whole article,the author puts forward some suggestions and prospects for the development of drama teaching method in mainland China.
