As a compilation of pre-Qin historical documents,Yi Zhou Shu preserves rich pre-Qin historical materials such as politics,economy,military,etiquette,etc.,and has important historical data value and literature value.Various types of historical documents can be divided into four categories: ritual books,military books,history books,and political books.The ritual books reflect rich ritual vocabulary types,informative content,and have language research value.This thesis takes the ritual vocabulary in Yi Zhou Shu as the research object,analyzes and investigates 229 words from the aspects of semantic description and lexical meaning analysis,and summarizes the basic status and characteristics of ritual vocabulary.The thesis is mainly divided into four parts:1.Determining the criteria for selecting ritual vocabulary.Based on the concept of etiquette in the pre-Qin period,the selection of ritual vocabulary was mainly related to the national ceremonies of the Zhou Dynasty,including words that reflected the names of ceremonies and other necessary elements of ceremonial activities.2.Describing the ritual vocabulary in Yi Zhou Shu semantically.The thesis describes the ritual vocabulary in Yi Zhou Shu semantically by classification and interpretation.First,according to the applicable ritual occasions,the ritual vocabulary in Yi Zhou shu is divided into three categories: sacrifice,pilgrimage,and prisoner offering.Each category is divided into several categories for semantic description based on the content of the word meaning.3.Analyzing the lexical characteristics of ritual vocabulary in Yi Zhou Shu.The monosemic words in ritual vocabulary of Yi Zhou Shu have obvious advantage.Except the name of country,there are 154 monosemic words and 10 polysemic words among the 164 ritual words in Yi Zhou Shu.The monosyllabic words are mainly mono-semantic,and there are 32 monosyllabic words in Yi Zhou Shu,of which there are23 monosemic words,9 polysemic words.The etiquette meaning of monosemic words mainly are derived from the original meaning.Monosemic ritual words with polysemy can express several related meanings with obvious derivation relationships.There aretwo main ways to derive the meaning of words: chain and comprehensive.Most of the derivation clues are based on the association of elements related to the meaning,or on the association of similar properties and characteristics of certain types of meaning to produce a new meaning.There are 132 polysyllabic words related to ritual,of which monosemic words are dominant.There are 131 monosemic words and 1 polysemic word.the word meanings of compound words related to ritual are mainly in the compound form,which could express a variety of modified semantic relationships.There are 104 modified compound words in 118 compound words.This may be related to the need of adding modifiers to ritual words in order to continually precise their semantic connotations,with a distinguishing feature of use.4.Summarizing the etiquette of Zhou Dynasty by reflection of ritual vocabulary.Based on the text Chang Mai Jie,Wang Hui Jie,Shi Fu Jie and the ritual vocabulary in Yi Zhou Shu,the analysis focuses on the parts of the Zhou Dynasty Chang Mai ceremony.pilgrimage ceremony and offer prisoners ceremony.The main process of the sacrifice ceremony for tasting wheat is divided into four parts: the sacrifice society,admission,confession of ministers,and awards;the seat and garnish pattern of the lords and nobles in the pilgrimage ceremony are the concrete manifestation of the lords and nobles' rank status.The richer the pattern of the dress in the dress,the closer the seat is to Zhou Tianzi;the ritual flow of the dedication ceremony consists of four parts:sacrifice to prisoners,sacrifice to heaven,ancestors,sacrifice to prisoners,and sacrifice to the hundred gods.
