An Interpreting Practice Report On The Tea Culture Share

Information exchange is often conducted with the help of interpreting activities and interpreters.However,cultural interpreting is an indispensable part in pursuit of a better development of a united global community and a holistic comprehension on cultural diversity.These activities are especially important in the era of rapid development of China,with which the world will know better about China and Chinese culture,because all communication and cooperation are practised on the basis of understanding.The author participated in an activity on Chinese tea culture sharing as the interpreter on 23^rd of November 2019（UK time）when studying in University of Leeds,UK.This report is based on this activity and interpreting experience.In this report,the author first describes the basic information of interpreting activity,including the content,objectives,and process.Then the author discusses interpreting theories and skills used in interpreting activity with case analysis,including addition,adaption,explanation,making confirmations,transference and proper deletion.Apart from interpreting skills,the author will also point out some problems appearing in the interpreting:information loss and inaccurate interpreting.Through analysis and critical thinking on this interpreting experience,the author finally concludes that fully preparation,quick-reaction,class interpreting skills and relevant cultural knowledge are essential elements in interpreting activities.
