| Since the 1990 s,there has been an upsurge in the study of Chinese characters in the field of TCSL.Still,there has been little research on the subject.This paper takes two sets of elementary foreign Chinese teaching materials as the research object and puts forward its own views on the rationality of the compilation of teaching materials.This paper takes two sets of independent elementary foreign Chinese language teaching materials,Liu Yanmei’s Easy Way to Learn Chinese Characters and Li Rui’s Chinese Characters Easy to Learn:Starter,as the research object,and makes a comparative analysis of the Chinese character ontology knowledge of the two sets of teaching materials and based on various indicators.In terms of ontology knowledge,the two sets of teaching materials have complete structure and reasonable choice of words.The number,strokes,and structure of new characters in Easy Way to Learn Chinese Characters are more than that in the other one.Chinese Characters Easy to Learn:Starters’ practice types more than the other one.Easy Way to Learn Chinese Characters has more knowledge of the method of creating Chinese characters than Chinese Characters Easy to Learn:Starter.In terms of the various indicators,most new characters in the two textbooks belong to The Grade A Outline of Chinese Characters.Compared in a little bit difficult and very difficult characters,Easy Way to Learn Chinese Characters has more quantity and less propotion.In the new words with frequency greater than 1000 times,it’s the same result as the last one.The number and proportion of characters that do not belong to the first-level word table in Easy Way to Learn Chinese Characters are higher.Finally,three suggestions are put forward for the compilation of textbooks: Determine the teaching object and clear teaching objectives;Arrange ontology knowledge properly and introduct network learning resources appropriately;Divide the teaching module and define the teaching structure. |
