With the development of information age,the Internet is regarded as the most important tool to make "Internet connection" no longer a dream.However,due to the imbalance in the popularity and use of Internet,a series of discussions about the digital divide have been initiated.Combined with this discussion,this paper analyzes the difference of online social capital from the perspective of digital divide.That is to say,as a communication tool available to everyone,can the Internet achieve cross class online communication?Therefore,this paper based on the survey data of Internet users in Xiamen,from the perspective of the digital divide,takes the interviewee's online core discussion network as the research object,and examines the social and economic status,the difference of Internet use and the internal relat'ions of online social capital,attempts to analyze whether people can expand the contact of cross strata in the information age.The results show that the group with higher socioeconomic status has more online information acquisition behavior,and the Internet use behavior mediated by information acquisition will allow users to have more online social capital,that is,come into being the relationship chain:high social stratum-information acquisition-Online association with members of the high social class.Therefore,although the Internet can expand the scale of people's communication,it does not increase the contact of cross strata.This "online social capital gap" shows a new class partition in the information age.Finally,this paper discusses the new social inequality brought by technological development,provides some suggestions for the development of Internet in China.
