Research On The Influence Of Mobile Phone On Family Intergenerational Relationship

With the development of Internet and communication technologies,the functions of mobile phones have become increasingly powerful.The mobile phone has realized its own gorgeous transformation:from simple interpersonal communication functions,such as making phone calls,sending text messages,to multiple functions,especially the widely used mass communication functions,such as reading e-books,reading mobile newspapers,online shopping,and instant messaging.The development of mobile phones timely responded to the basic needs of human communication.According to the 41st"Statistical Report on Internet Development in China" published by CNNIC,as of December 2017,the number of mobile phone users has reached 753 million,and the number of mobile instant messaging users has reached 694 million,accounting for 92.2%of mobile Internet users.In all mobile Internet applications,instant messaging applications are used most frequently.At present,the offspring are generally far away from their parents.Communication is an important element of this separation family in maintaining family intimacy and is a bond between parents and their offspring.The media characteristics of mobile phones satisfy the requirement of the communication to become the main channel for communication between parents and their offspring.While the mobile phone maintained intergenerational communication,it also made important changes in intergenerational conflicts,and ultimately had a greater impact on family parent-offspring relations.This article takes the family intergenerational relationship as the research object,and studies the multiple influences of mobile phones on family intergenerational relationships.This article will combine questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews to illustrate the influence of mobile phone on intergenerational relationship from the perspectives of intergenerational relationship types,parental use of mobile phones,parenting of children,parent-child communication,and intergenerational conflicts.There are three parts in this article,which are introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction part includes the research background,research significance,relevant research theory,concept definition,research methods and selected characteristics of sample in this article.There are three chapters in the main body.The first chapter is to analyze the specific performance of mobile phone on family intergenerational relations through data and in-depth interviews,mainly elaborated into three aspects:First,the family field changes,the family field attribute changes from the reality to the virtualization,and the virtualization becomes the most obvious characteristic of the family field.The second is the recurrence of the role of parent-offspring,the mobile phone media weakens the authority of the parents,and the offspring make use of mobile phones to establish the understanding between offspring and parents.The third is the evolution of the conflict.The deconstruction of the identity caused by the emergence of the digital divide in the media age escalated the conflicts because of the fierce collision between the offspring and the parents.The second chapter is based on the basic theory of social communication and the characteristics of different functions of mobile phones to propose suggestions for improving family intergenerational relations.The third chapter is based on the great changes in people's modern technology era to reflect on media technology and family intergenerational relations.The final part of the conclusion is to summarize the full text,sum up the conclusions of this paper,look forward to the future of technology development.In a word,mobile phones not only provide the convenience of media use,but also have a huge impact on human social communication.The family intergenerational relationships show new features by the use of mobile social media to create a virtual family social field,by the cultural back-feeding to narrow the gap between generations,and by the spread of sub-cultures to weaken the family culture and increase self-consciousness of offspring,The complex influence of mobile phone media on intergenerational relationships is the result of the combination of technology development and human application technology.It is suggested that people should use technology rationally in their lives.
