In recent years,the increasing number of Southeast Asian students studying in China has become increasingly prominent in the cross-cultural adaptation of Chinese students.The research object of this study was to(education)Southeast Asian students in kunming,in Southeast Asia the number of students is the most concentrated of three colleges and universities in Kunming as the sampling frame,by questionnaire method and interview method,and study their media use and the relationship between cultural adaptation.The study found that the Southeast Asian students shows the characteristics of some media use and their media use will affect the strategies of cultural adaptation and cultural identity,and affect their intercultural adaptation.In Southeast Asia is generally believed that international students contact with people of different cultural background will make them aware of their cultural identity,but is not due to cultural differences have a strong does not adapt,through different cultural adaptation strategies(whether positive or "bulk"),the overall in good condition.Of course,some people think that China and Southeast Asian countries in geographical,cultural origin and contact played a big role in it.Language level and the media to use language is the important factors that affect students intercultural adaptation.On the one hand,the new media greatly reduced the time and space of transmission;on the other hand,the "window" function and provide the double function of social support for interpersonal communication,and obtain relevant cultural knowledge and the social support are slow to adapt to the stress on the important influence factors of cross-cultural adaptation.Therefore,new media has a greater and deeper impact on the cross-cultural adaptation of immigrants than traditional media.Social media has accelerated the social transformation of social media,accelerated the speed of information exchange,and reduced the anxiety and insecurity of international students' cross-cultural adaptation.
