As a basis for China's economic development, the floating population affects the reform and urbanization of the labor market. This paper makes use of the dynamic monitoring data of mobile population from 2011 to 2016,from the perspective of intergenerational differences,to study the differences between the current generation characteristics of the new generation of floating population and the older generation of migrant population, and to analyze in depth the income difference between the two generations of floating population in different income divisions. The number of influencing factors and the degree of their contribution provide a theoretical reference for a comprehensive understanding of the development of China's floating population.Firstly, the analysis of the trend of the floating population in 2011-2016 shows that there are significant differences in personal, mobility, employment characteristics and income distribution between the new generation of migrants and the older generation of migrants, and the income is in the mean and each quantile. The difference is increasing year by year. Therefore, the study of the income of two generations of floating population is carried out from the perspective of the mean and the quantile. Then, construct the income equation for least squares regression, and find that the factors affecting the average income of the two generations of migrants are roughly the same.In order to more comprehensively reflect the effects of various influencing factors at different income levels, the income of two generations of floating population was analyzed by constructing a quantile regression model. The results showed that the effects of various factors on income were observed with the change of income quantile. The degree also changes. After identifying the factors affecting the income of the two generations of floating population, and then decomposing the income difference,we can know the contribution of the influencing factors to the income difference. The Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition decomposes the income difference between the two generations of floating population from the perspective of mean value. It is found that the difference in income mean of the two generations of floating population is affected by multiple levels of education level, number of children, and duration of flow;quantile decomposition from the quantile From the perspective of the income difference between the two generations of floating population,it is found that the reasons for the income difference are also different under different income levels. Finally, combined with the results of this study, the corresponding recommendations are put forward.
