Research On The Statistical Public Credibility Of Yangjiang Municipal Government

As far as the government is concerned,statistics have a great influence on the credibility and authority of the government.The credibility of government statistics directly affects the ability of government governance,which is an important issue to be faced when building government governance mechanism.Therefore,as long as the statistical data and information are distorted,whether caused by the government's neglect or by the social groups' biased understanding of the statistical data,it will cause the crisis of statistical trust to a considerable extent.Therefore,starting from Yangjiang,we can find out the reasons for the lack of public credibility of Yangjiang municipal government in statistics from the source,which is helpful to promote the construction of service-oriented government and enhance the public credibility of Yangjiang municipal government.Based on the new public management theory,stakeholder theory,information asymmetry theory and other theories,this paper uses the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey and case analysis,based on the investigation of the statistical credibility of Yangjiang municipal government,in-depth analysis of the current situation of local government statistical credibility,analysis of its causes,and then draws relevant countermeasures and suggestions.The paper is divided into five parts: the first part mainly introduces the research background and significance,current research situation at home and abroad,research contents and methods,and innovations;the second part mainly defines relevant concepts such as government credibility,statistical credibility,local government statistical credibility,and at the same time carries on the new public management theory,stakeholder theory and information asymmetry theory.The third part analyses the current situation of the statistical credibility of Yangjiang municipal government;the fourth part points out the problems existing in the statistical credibility of Yangjiang municipal government,such as the low quality of statistical data,the gap between statistical data and the real feelings of the public,the inability of statistical data to meet public needs,the low transparency of local government statistical work,and the restriction of local government from the statistical system,respectively.The reasons for the lack of credibility of government statistics,the imperfect mechanism of government performance appraisal,the unscientific system of statistical methods,the inadequate support of the media and the public for government statistics are analyzed in this paper.The fifth part,aiming at the problems and reasons found in previous studies,puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to enhance the credibility of Yangjiang municipal government statistics,mainly including: improving the statistical system of localgovernments,establishing a scientific system.The objective performance appraisal mechanism of local governments,the reform of statistical methods and systems,and the improvement of statistical data interpretation and publication mechanism,etc.
