Research On The Influencing Factors Of Haze Pollution In Guanzhong Area

Nowadays,people pay more and more attention to the haze weather.The haze pollutants,especially particular matter has brought the unfavorable impact on the health of people and the development of the economy.At present,the haze is more common in sorme special areas and has shown the characteristics of region cluster.Guanzhong area is developing quickly with a large population and many factories,which has caused serious haze pollution,so the Shaanxi government realized it and put forward a series of measures of governing the haze pollution and clear target.It comes up a goal that PM 10 in 2017 is 15%below than that in 2012.However,the air quality is not getting better after several years of governing.The policies issued by Guanzhong government are basically consistent with that of China State Council.But reasons for haze pollution vary from areas and it is worth to discuss the reasons for the haze pollution in Guanzhong,so that we can put forward more perfect and suitable policies in the future.In this paper,I choose Guanzhong area in Shaanxi province as target,and analyze the main factors causing the heavy haze pollution in Guan Zhong based on spatial econometric models.To be specific,there are some social and economic factors including population,GDP per capita,population,coal,energy consumption per unit GDP,industrial structure,vehicles,trees,construction work in process and meteorological factors including rainfall and wind speed.And the results show that:(1)Spatial spillover effect of haze pollution exists in Guanzhong because of the air movement and close distance.The dominant wind in Guanzhong is east wind,and it means that wind brings the haze from Xi’an and Weinan where the haze pollution is the most serious to west area of Guanzhong.(2)Regardless of the spatial spillover effect,the energy consumption per unit of GDP is the main influencing factors of haze pollution.(3)Considering the spatial spillover effect,both fixed and random effects estimation methods show that there is a spatial positive correlation of haze pollution in Guanzhong area.From the empirical regression results,economic development,energy consumption per unit of GDP,consumption of coal and vehicles have a positive effect on the haze pollution in Guanzhong area.Among them,the effect of energy consumption per unit of GDP is the most significant one.Besides,the green area and wind speed have a negative effect on the haze pollution in Guanzhong area.Based on the above research findings,this article suggests that controlling haze pollution of Guanzhong region should focus on improving the efficiency of energy use,reducing the amount of civilian vehicles,coal consumption and increasing the area of green land.At the same time,Guanzhong should form the inter-regional mechanisms for joint prevention and control work to govern the haze pollution.
