Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Modified Baohe Pills on children functional constipation(indigestible syndrome of dairy products and food).Method: Sixty children who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group and control group according to the order of treatment.The treatment group was given Modified Baohe Pills in 30 cases,and the control group was given lactulose oral solution in 30 cases.Both groups were treated for two weeks.Statistical SPSS software was used to make comparisons between groups and within groups.The improvement of main and secondary symptoms,curative effect of TCM syndromes and disease efficacy of the two groups were observed before and after treatment.Results:1.Comparisons between the treatment group and the control group after treatment: there was no significant difference in the main symptoms scores between the two groups(P > 0.05);defecation time scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05);there was no significant difference in the scores of breath,sleep and urine between the two groups(P > 0.05);the appetite scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.01);the total main symptoms in the two groups were significantly lower(P < 0.01).There was no significant difference in the scores between the two groups(P > 0.05);the total scores of the treatment group and the secondary symptoms were lower than those of the control group(P < 0.05).2.Before and after treatment,the main symptom scores of the control group were significantly lower than those before treatment(P < 0.01);the appetite scores of the secondary symptoms had no statistical significance before and after treatment(P > 0.05),and the scores of the remaining secondary symptoms were significantly lower than those before treatment(P < 0.01).3.Before and after treatment,the scores of main symptoms and secondary symptoms in the treatment group were significantly lower than those before treatment(P < 0.01),and the scores of secondary symptoms were significantly lower than those before treatment(P < 0.01).4.The effective rate of disease in the treatment group was 93.1% and that in the control group was 86.2%.There was no significant difference in the curative effect between the two groups(P > 0.05).5.The total effective rate of TCM syndromes in the treatment group was 93.1%,and that in the control group was 72.4%.The total effective rate of TCM syndromes in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P < 0.05).Conclusion: Modified Baohe Pills can effectively improve the main and second ary symptoms of children’s functional constipation;Modified Baohe Pills is superior to lactulose oral solution in TCM syndromes,and is superior to lactulose oral solution in improving defecation time and appetite.
