Based On Data Mining, Professor Lv Xiaodong's Medication Rule Analysis For The Treatment Of Chronic Cough

Purpose:To collate Professor Lv’s academic thoughts by analyzing her prescriptions’ compatible regularity on chronic cough and provide basis for clinical therapy on chronic cough.Material and method:Forty prescriptions prescribed by Professor Lv in Liaoning Hospital of TCM on chronic cough were selected which involved 114 kinds of herbal medicines and were analyzed with frequency statistics,cluster analysis and association rules analysis.Results:The four herbal medicines with highest frequency were licorice,platycodon,almonds,and aster.Resuscitative medicine,phlegm-resolving antitussive and antiasthmatic medicine,exterior-releasing medicine,heat clearing medicine most of which are warm and taste bitter and acrid were most used in the treatment.No result was achieved from cluster analysis.Association rules analysis showed 10 pairs of couplet medicines mostly used,which were platycodon and almonds,platycodon and aster,platycodon and stemona,ephedra and almonds,nepeta and stemona,pinellia and almonds,cicada slough and aster,bombyx batryticatus and cicada slough,aster and coltsfoot flower.Conclusion:Professor Lv’s treatment on chronic cough was based on the method of resuscitation and resolving phlegm,side with the classic prescriptions such as Xiaoqinglong decoction,Gancaoganjiang decoction,Maxingshigan decoction,Lingguizhugan decoction,Gualouxiebaibanxia decoction according to the syndromes.The research used frequency statistics,cluster analysis and association rules analysis to summarize Professor Lv’s clinical experience on chronic cough,which in this research were using phlegm-resolving antitussive and antiasthmatic medicine,exterior-releasing medicine,heat clearing medicine and warm medicines tasting bitter and acrid.Most common herbal medicines were licorice,platycodon,almonds,and aster Mostly used couplet medicines were platycodon and almonds,platycodon and aster,platycodon and stemona,ephedra and almonds,nepeta and stemona,pinellia and almonds,cicada slough and aster,bombyx batryticatus and cicada slough,aster and coltsfoot flower.Data mining was a suitable method for researching prescriptions on chronic cough.The results could be the basis of clinic treatment on chronic cough and guidance of scientific researches.
