Purpose:To observe the curative effects of Chinese and western medicine combined with Enhanced External Counterpulsation in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris and the effect on superoxide dismutase and malondialdehyde, and discuss the mechanism of treating unstable angina pectoris.Material and method:120 patients with unstable angina pectoris were selected, this disease were divided in random into 2 groups,60 patients in a group.the control group treated with Compound-Wenban Decoction, routine western medical, the treatment group treated with Compound-Wenban Decoction, routine western medical combined with enhanced external counterpulsation, the treatment cycle were all 4 weeks.Baseline information of all patients were recorded, the symptoms of angina and TCM syndromes and the changes of SOD and MDA content in the two groups before and after the course of treatment were recorded and counted. Results: 1.Baseline information:Two groups of patients were comparable, have no statistical differences(P >0.05).2.Symptoms of angina pectoris:After treatment, the curative effect of angina symptom was better than that of control group(P <0.05).3.TCM syndromes:After treatment, the curative effect of TCM syndrome in treatment group was better than that of control group(P <0.05).4.Serum SOD level:After treatment, the serum SOD content in both groups increased significantly(P <0.05),And the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group(P <0.05).5Serum MDA level:After treatment, the serum MDA content in both groups increased significantly(P <0.05),And the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group(P <0.05).Conclusion:1.Chinese and western medicine combined with enhanced external counterpulsation can significantly improve the symptoms of angina and TCM syndromes of unstable angina pectoris.2.Chinese and western medicine combined with enhanced external counterpulsation can improve the expression level of superoxide dismutase, enhance the body’s antioxidant protection ability, this regulation inhibits oxidative stress response, reduce the generation level of malondialdehyde.
