| Objective:To explore the clinical effect and possible mechanism of Wen Yang Bu Shen Decoction on erectile dysfunction due to renal yang deficiency.Methods:From the outpatient department and inpatient department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,90 patients with renal yang deficiency type erectile dysfunction were included,and they were randomly divided into 3 groups according to the random number table method.They were Chinese medicine treatment group,Chinese patent medicine control group and Western medicine control group,with 30 people in each.Corresponding drugs were taken orally,4 weeks as a course of treatment,continuous treatment for 2courses.Before treatment,4 and 8 weeks after treatment blood samples were taken to detect serum testosterone level,erectile hardness grade was evaluated,IIEF-5 score and TCM clinical syndrome score were calculated.Results:In this clinical study,87 cases were completed,1 case was eliminated and 2 cases fell off.Among them,there were 29 cases in the traditional Chinese medicine treatment group,30 cases in the Chinese patent medicine control group and28 cases in the western medicine control group.1.Before treatment,the comparison of age,disease duration,disease condition,serum testosterone level,erectile hardness grade,IIEF-5 score and TCM clinical symptom score of the three groups the was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).2.Therapeutic effect: the treatment effect was evaluated by the IIEF-5 score before and after treatment.the control group of Chinese patent medicine was significantly weaker than the other two groups(p < 0.05),while the treatment group of traditional Chinese medicine and the treatment group of western medicine had no significant difference(p > 0.05).The curative effect was evaluated by the change of clinical symptom score before and after treatment in traditional Chinese medicine.the difference was statistically significant in traditional Chinese medicine treatment group > Chinese patent medicine control group > western medicine control group,p <0.05.3.Therapeutic index: after treatment,the therapeutic index of each group was improved compared with that before treatment(p < 0.05).In terms of serum testosterone level and TCM clinical symptom score,TCM treatment group > Chinese patent medicine control group > western medicine control group(p < 0.05);Erectile hardness and IIEF-5 score: western medicine control group ≥ Chinese medicine treatment group(p > 0.05),Chinese medicine treatment group > Chinese medicine control group(P<0.05),that is,western medicine control group ≥ Chinese medicine treatment group > Chinese medicine control group.Conclusion:Wen Yang Bu Shen Decoction has a good therapeutic effect on renal yang deficiency of ED.It can not only improve penis erection hardness and IIEF-5score,but also significantly improve its TCM clinical syndromes.Its mechanism of action may be related to the increase of the serum levels of testosteronel. |
