Objective:A randomized clinical trial was designed to compare the efficacy of electro-acupuncture and electro-acupuncture combined with acupoint injection in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathyMethod:60 cases of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy were randomly divided into two groups, treatment group(electro-acupuncture plus acupoint injection)and control group(simple electro-acupuncture group),30 cases in each group.Acupoint selection:bilateral cervical 2、4、6 Jiaji points(EX-B2).Both two groups of cases take electro-acupuncture treatment for 15 minutes, for the treatment group, patients get acupoint injection cervical Jiaji point.Patients take the treatment every other day,3 times a week, the course of the treatment lasts 8 weeks.Four time points of curative effect evaluation, before starting treatment,at the end of 4-weeks’ treatment, ant the end of 8-weeks’ treatment, all for 1 month after treatment(follow-up).Rating scale using Total Tanaka Yasuku Score(TTYS),The Neck Disability Index(NDI)and short-form McGill Pain Questionnaire(SF-MPQ).Curative effect evaluation standard in accordance with the state administration of traditional Chinese medicine 1994 "Standard of disease diagnosis curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine" related curative effect evaluation standard to draw up.The research data is through spssl7.0 software for statistics.Results:1.Score results of TTYS score:There is no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The two groups were compared after 4-weeks’treatment,after 8-weeks’ treatment and follow up,both two groups had significant reduction, and there is statistically significance between the two groups(P<0.01).2.Score results of NDI score:There is no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The two groups were compared after 4-weeks’ treatment, after 8-weeks’ treatment and follow up,both two groups had significant reduction, and there is statistically significance between the two groups(P<0.01).3.Score results of SF-MPQ score:There is no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The two groups were compared after 4-weeks’treatment,after 8-weeks’ treatment and follow up,both two groups had significant reduction, and for all 3 time points the treatment group had a more significant reduction(P<0.01).4.Curative effect evaluation:After 4-weeks treatment, the cure rate of treatment group was 33.3%,total effective rate was 90.0%;the cure rate of control group was 6.7%,total effective rate was 36.7%.After 8-weeks treatment, the cure rate of treatment group was 70%,total effective rate was 93.3%;the cure rate of control group was 16.7%,total effective rate was 80.0%.For the follow up,the cure rate of treatment group was 76.6%,total effective rate was 100%;the cure rate of control group was 30.0%,total effective rate was 90%.It is pointed out that the treatment group is more effective than the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:Both two therapy have good efficacy on treating cervical spondylotic radiculopathy and electro-acupuncture combined with acupoint injection may get more remarkable curative effect within a certain period of treatment.
