Existential philosophy is a philosophy school that originated in the 19th century and flourished in the 20th century.Existentialism philosophy is not limited to philosophical fields,but it is combined with literary,dramatic,and speech forms to integrate existentialism into the public.It eventually evolved into a social movement as a philosophical trend of thought.Different from Western traditional philosophy,which took the material world as research object,existentialism starts from people and takes people as the principal part,paying attention to the existence of people and exploring the existence value of people.After the prosperity of existentialism,it quickly set off a humanistic trend of thought in many fields such as philosophy,literature,and drama,thus becoming one of the most important trends of thought in the West in the 20th century.David Fincher is a Hollywood director who combines business and art perfectly.He disregards the investor's preferences and Hollywood tradition to form his personal style.Compared to the Hollywood mainstream director's output of American values,David Fincher is more inclined to reflect American social issues,tap the core of human nature,and trigger audiences to think.From 1992 to 2018,David Fincher produced only ten films.David Fincher's films are unique in style,profound in meaning,and full of philosophy.This article tries to make an in-depth analysis of David Fincher's film from the perspective of existential philosophy.The full text consists of five chapters,including three chapters of important content and introduction,conclusion.The first chapter mainly elaborates the research background of the article,combs the domestic and foreign research overview,delimits the research scope of this article according to David Fincher's film,further clarifies the research methods,and focuses on the research of this article.The second chapter is divided into two parts.The first part is a brief description of existential philosophy.It mainly examines Kierkegaard,a pioneer of existentialism philosophy,and representatives and viewpoints of existentialism in Germany and France.there also has a brief introduction to existentialism and given the influence of Existentialism on films.The second part firstly introduces David Fincher's film career and secondly explains David Fincher's inheritance and development of film noir.The third chapter mainly analyzes the film of David Fincher from the perspective of existential aesthetics.First,David Fincher's cinematographic features are explored in terms of external aesthetic forms such as lighting,color,and urban image.Secondly,it sums up the existential aesthetic features of the film from the aspects of narrative,movement,and film in the movie.Chapter 4 focuses on analyzing the role of David Fincher's movies.Based on existential individual theory,the characters in David Fincher's movies are analyzed through four aspects:the choice of role,the living status of the character,and the resistance of the character.From the perspective of gaze,love,and group theory,the relationship between subjects and others in the research object is further elaborated.Finally,it analyzes the factors of active resistance in David Fincher's film.Chapter 5 reveals its profound social-significance through the profoundly rethink and critical consciousness of existentialism in David Fincher's films.This article takes the existentialism as a means,mainly excavating the value and significance of David Fincher movies from the aspects of philosophical connotation,demonstrating their particularity and importance,providing reference for Chinese and foreign films.
