The Study Of Female Images In Korean Female-themed Movies Since The 1990s

Korean films have attracted the attention of the public recently and the Korean feminine films have shaped many types of women since 1990 while considering the research of female image as an indispensable subject matter for film criticism along with the development of the Korean films.This thesis makes a comprehensive conclusion about the Korean feminine films,as well as summarizes the female images in these films,while analyzing the female images appeared since 1990 from the macro vertical direction like society,culture and history and micro horizontal direction like identity,character and emotion.Besides,the cultural connotation will also be analyzed in details.The thesis focuses on female consciousness combining with the characteristics of the filmology to discuss through four chapters.The first chapter is to uncover the changes and features of the shaping of female images by comparing Korean female films produced before the 1990 and those after the 1990.The second chapter is to summarize the type of the female images since 1990 while analyzing these images from aspects of the state of existence,sexual relation and fate.The third chapter is to represent the variation characteristics of the female images since 1990 as well as to find the changed features and to reveal and conclude the shaping methods and strategies by comparing with the traditional female images.The fourth chapter is to dig out the cultural values of these female images appeared since 1990 about their overturning the traditional culture,rethinking the sexual relation and realizing the values of the female consciousness according to the types of these images and the shaping strategies.
