The rise of the Belt and Road Initiative has led to the widespread spread of Chinese throughout the world.The Confucius Institute at Lao National University is the largest Chinese language teaching institution in Laos.Nearly 2,000 students come here every year to learn Chinese.Quantifiers,as an important class of vocabulary in Chinese,play an extremely important role in forming sentences and expressing semantics,but their imagery,color,ambiguity,rhetoric and other characteristics also bring great challenges to Chinese learners.Therefore,this study is based on the author ’s teaching practice at the Confucius Institute at Lao National University,the actual situation of Chinese learners at the Confucius Institute at Lao National University,and the comprehensive course textbook "Experiencing Chinese(Lao Language Version)used by the Confucius Institute at Lao National University.)”,Relying on the 38 quantifiers appearing in the textbook as the focus of research,comparative analysis of the similarities and differences in the grammatical characteristics of Chinese and old quantifiers.Conducted a non-information questionnaire survey on teachers and students,and conducted a knowledge test on the students.Through the acquisition background and analysis of the acquisition effect,the types of quantifier errors common to Chinese learners and the reasons for the errors were summarized.The teaching of Chinese quantifiers at the Confucius Institute at the University provides certain teaching strategies and suggestions.
