Study On Hong Qian's Scientific Philosophy

Hong Qian,a student of the famous philosopher of science Moritz Schlick,inherited the philosophical thought of logical empiricism.What's more,he focused on solving problems about philosophy and science using method of logical analysis via years of study in the Vienna School and discussing and debating with other members.Hence He carried forward and developed logical empiricism.As the only Chinese member in the Vienna School,he brought logical empiricism to China and devoted his life to research and spread philosophy idea,method and spirit of logical empiricism,and also formed his own philosophy of science at the same time.What's more,he impressed the world with his rigorous and disciplined academic style.In this paper,we expound Hong Qian's philosophy of science systematically and deeply explore the value of his philosophy of science based on exploring the historical background and theoretical source of his philosophy of science.The paper is organized as follows:In the first part,we analysis and explore the historical background and theoretical source of Hong Qian's philosophy of science,including the historical background,his study experience,his work history after back to China and the development of Chinese philosophy in the early 20^thcentury and theoretical sources for the formation of his philosophy of science,the Vienna School and Schlick's philosophy.And in the second part,we expound the core content of Hong Qian's philosophy of science systematically,including criticism of traditional metaphysics,ideas about philosophy being the activity of meaning clarification and unifying science.While in the last part,we will deeply explore the theoretical value and realistic value.The theoretical value is reflected in the promotion and development of logical empiricism theory,the clarification of the relationship between Schlick and Wittgenstein and a new understanding about the relationship between natural science and spiritual science.It also rekindles the theoretical interest of logical empiricism in philosophy of science.While the realistic value is mainly the influence on Chinese philosophy and aesthetics.
