With the enhancement of China's economic strength and social development,various kinds of infrastructure are developing vigorously,and most of the infrastructure is related to the slope,especially most of the highway construction and operation are closely related to the stability of the slope.The instability of highway slope,such as landslide,collapse,collapse and other hazards,not only has a certain impact on the project construction and the surrounding environment,more importantly,it will threaten people's lives and property,and even cause major losses.Guizhou province and is located in the southwest of the country without "three mile plateau,three free day sunny day",has been a landslide to one of the key of the prevention and control of geological disasters in our province,and now the country's vigorously support the development of guizhou,a large number of infrastructure is built,so to ensure safety,under the condition of rapid development,it is particularly important to the study of stability of slope engineering,is also a very challenging and meaningful work.This paper discusses the slope stability of a poverty alleviation project in guizhou daozhen county high slope region,and its biggest characteristic is the relatively developed Karst region.The main factors affecting the stability of slope in karst region include topography,soft structure,karst and karst hydrodynamics,karst weathering and load,etc.Carbonate rocks are widely distributed in guizhou,long-term weathering carbonate formation of red clay and red clay slope is increasing,and the whole red clay slope instability phenomenon will be less,and collapse,local slip fall shallow slope failure phenomenon is relatively rare,such as operation and train operation safety of highway will cause
