Research On Characteristics Of Engineering Knowledge In Knowledge Economy Era

Engineering in different social periods has different characteristics,and the characteristics of engineering determine the characteristics of engineering knowledge.According to the history of human social development,this paper extends the characteristics of engineering knowledge in the "knowledge economy era" from the engineering characteristics of three different historical times: "agricultural economy era","industrial economy era" and "knowledge economy era".In the era of agricultural economy,engineering is characterized by people's experience in using natural raw materials(such as Stone,wood,etc.).People's understanding of engineering mainly depends on the production and use of primary materials and engaging in engineering activities on this basis.In this era,engineering knowledge comes from engineering practice,thus obtaining empirical knowledge,which is characterized by empirical knowledge.In the era of industrial economy,engineering is characterized by "machine-energy-oriented" social productivity.The characteristics of engineering knowledge in this era are dominated by natural science knowledge.The engineering in the era of knowledge economy is more complicated than that in the previous two eras.The objective world itself has infinitely divisible levels,so with the continuous understanding and transformation of the objective world by human beings,engineering will inevitably show its own levels.Hierarchy can be referred to in two directions: the connotation extends to the deep field,and the extension extends to the broad field.Therefore,the engineering characteristics in the era of knowledge economy are both professional and integrated.The characteristics of engineering knowledge are the unity of reductionism and holism,the unity of abstraction and practice,and the unity of social science and natural science.Then it can be concluded that engineering knowledge in the era of knowledge economy is a dialectical pluralistic knowledge system.
