Research On The Singularity Problem Of Artificial Intelligence

As the latest achievement of the information revolution,artificial intelligence brings convenience to human production and life,while its rapid development makes human beings worry about their own fate.Will artificial intelligence be able to compete with human intelligence? Can artificial intelligence surpass human intelligence? Will artificial intelligence replace human beings? This series of questions have aroused the attention and thoughts of the academic community.This is in fact the AI singularity problem mentioned in this paper.The AI singularity refers to the point in time when AI possesses human intelligence and generates autonomous consciousness,and it is also the dividing point between weak and strong AI.In this paper,through the elaboration and distinction between AI and human intelligence,it is argued that AI does not possess intentionality and cannot complete semantic recognition,and is instrumental in nature.Therefore,the AI singularity will not come and strong AI cannot be achieved.However,because of the exponential growth of AI,it will have a more profound impact on the whole society in the foreseeable future.We reflect on the development of AI to make it better serve human beings based on achieving its own development in order to realize the common development of AI and human intelligence.The introduction part of the first chapter briefly introduces the background of the selected topic,the significance of the research and a review of domestic and foreign research,the research method and innovation points.The second chapter analyzes the generation and development of AI and its schools,and the division of AI according to its different development stages.There are three major schools of AI,which represent different turns of AI in different development periods;based on the development stages,AI is divided into strong AI and weak AI,and strong AI is the prerequisite for the generation of the singularity problem studied in this paper.Chapter 3 elaborates the concept of singularity and the theoretical origin and technical premise of singularity generation,and summarizes the different arguments about singularity in the development of AI,including the believers of singularity,the skeptics of singularity and the attitude of our scholars towards the singularity problem.Chapter 4 starts from the relationship between human intelligence and AI,distinguishes the material carriers,cognitive modes and response forms of AI and human intelligence,and argues that AI cannot possess human intelligence for the following reasons: AI does not possess intentionality,AI cannot accomplish semantic recognition and the instrumental properties with AI.Chapter 5 provides an outlook on the future development of AI.Focusing on three aspects of human-friendly AI,the spiritual value of human intelligence and the human-machine relationship,relevant suggestions are made to promote the development of AI.While promoting the popularization,safety and greening of AI,human beings focus on their own intelligence,realize the all-round development of human beings while strengthening the cultivation of humanistic spirit,and build a good human-machine relationship so that AI can better serve human beings and promote the harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature.
